An electric piano is an electro-acoustic musical instrument which is also called digital piano. It is a musical instrument that emerged between 1960s and 1970s and was popular from 1980s to the early 1990s. It’s used to replace the acoustic piano in certain occasions.

The sounding principle of the electric piano is to use the keyboard as an on-off switch. Once the key is pressed, the internal crystal oscillator starts to work to generate a certain frequency waveform, which is then amplified by the frequency divider and sent to the speaker to sound.
